Sandy Byers

Sanford E. " Sandy" Byers, with over 25 years of experience in architecture, land architecture and land planning, founded Byers Design Group, LLC in 1999 as one of few to combine all three disciplines into one firm offering comprehensive design services to residential and commercial entities throughout South Carolina. The group is dedicated to customizing each design project to complement the natural environment and surroundings and to reflect the style and preference of each client.
Based in Charleston since 1987, Sandy has earned a solid reputation both for his design skills and his ability to forge successful working relationships with clients and construction partners. For 12 years he was a partner in SBF Design, where he was director of land planning and landscape architecture and was responsible for residential architectural services. The comprehensive Charleston-based firm served commercial and private clients including NationsBank, Roper CareAlliance and The Elliott Group.
At Byers Design Group, Sandy is teamed with an energetic and creative group of design professionals who provide creative and memorable architecture, landscape planning and land use planning expertise. A sampling of clients includes Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Broad Street Partners, SC Federal Credit Union, Charleston Day School, The Beach Company, Kalman Construction, and various other residential clients.
Sandy attended Georgia Tech in Architecture and holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. He attended the University of South Carolina studying towards a masters of business administration. He is licensed as an Architect and a Landscape Architect in South Carolina.
